I’ve unfollowed like 3 people in the last week alone for straight up girl hate. I also let them know it was pretty sad the things they were saying. All I got was a bunch of hypocritical bullshit in return. Come on.

<3

Well, I disagree. I don’t hate girls but I do get along with guys a lot better.

“I don’t hate people of colour but I do get along with white people a lot better!” “I don’t hate people with disabilities buuut I do get along with able-bodied folks a LOT better!”
The reasoning is ridiculous, not to mention extremely oppressive. Not cool.
It saddens and frustrates me when I hear/read/see girls express this discriminatory thinking. If you don’t get along with other girls, they are not the problem. The problem is your prejudice and therefore your responsibility. You gotta own that shit, girl! No more cop outs, scapegoats, or excuses.
Girl-hate is real. Let’s stop it FOR REAL.

>:( but stupid sluts that cheat on my boyfriend deserve to be hated on! no word on the amount of hate being directed towards the boyfriend
^^ Usually the most common girl-hate I’ve seen.

Super special snowflakes get duped into internalized misogyny, and it’s pretty sad. I was just hanging out with a young woman a few days ago who seemed really into feminism, but then she admitted that she won’t hang out with girls because “they’re like too psychotic and stuff” and I just hung my head in shame. Girl-hate is not cool, and we don’t need to buy into men’s gaslighting and actually believe that we are somehow inadequate or “hysterical” or psychotic. It’s fucked up.

See, I agree with this and all, but I don’t think it’s ‘discriminatory’ or anything if you say you get along with guys better (or get along with girls better, even). It’s not based on sex, it’s based on personality types and how you mesh with them. For example, I was raised with boys (3 older brothers)  and all their male-friends, I naturally I get along with guys a little bit easier than I do with girls. I’m not that traditionally feminine, I’m more of a ‘tomboy,’ and that’s okay right? I shouldn’t have to be all girly and feminine like society says. Therefore, it shouldn’t be considered ‘discriminatory’ if I’m more comfortable with boys, because I was raised with boys. In general, I think guys and girls have somewhat different personality types (feminine and masculine, I guess), and you’re more easily friends with people who have a similar personality to yours (not always, obviously). So why should I be hated and called “discriminatory” if I, in general, naturally get along better with guys, since I’m “masculine”? (I don’t really like using that term :P) Not to say I don’t have girl-friends (which, by the way, all my close girl-friends are fairly ‘masculine’ like myself). And I know a girl who’s the exact same way, only with girls. So would you call her discriminatory against men if she naturally gets along better with girls? I feel like some of the responses above me are kind of hypocritical.
